PrometheusPrivacy Policy: Comment Alerts

This policy describes what the Comment Alerts app ("the app") does with data.
What the app does
When someone leaves a comment on your site (Blog, the Comments widget, or another app that uses the Comments API), Wix tells the app. The app then sends an email about that comment to the addresses you chose, and records a short line about it in your site's own database so you can see it in the app's history.
Data the app handles
- Comments: the comment text, the time, whether it is a reply, whether it waits for approval, and the page or blog post it was left on (title and link). The app reads this from Wix when the comment is created.
- Commenter name: if the commenter is a site member, the app looks up their display name so the email can say who wrote it. Visitors who are not members appear as "A visitor". The app does not read commenters' email addresses.
- Your recipients: the email addresses you type in the app's settings. By default this is the site owner's email address, which the app reads from Wix once to fill in the field.
- Your settings and history: recipients, on/off switches, keywords, and one history line per comment (time, page, author name, a short excerpt, and whether an email was sent). These are stored in two collections in your site's own database (CMS), named "Comment Alerts settings" and "Comment Alerts history". They are visible to you in the CMS and are not stored anywhere else.
- Plan status: the app asks Wix whether your site is on the free or the paid plan.
- One browser setting: when you close the intro box, the app remembers that in your browser's local storage (one on/off flag).
How emails are sent
Emails are sent by Wix's email service on behalf of your site, from a Wix address, and count toward your site's email allowance. The developer has no mail server and receives no copy.
Data the app does not collect
The app has no servers and no database of its own. It does not send any data to the developer or to any third party. It uses no analytics, no tracking, no third-party scripts, no advertising and sets no cookies on your visitors.
Sharing
We do not sell or share data. The only parties involved are you and Wix. Wix processes data under its own privacy policy (https://www.wix.com/about/privacy). Payments for the paid plan are handled by Wix; the developer does not receive card details.
Retention and deletion
Settings and history stay in your site's collections until you delete them in the CMS. You can delete any history line at any time. Uninstalling the app stops all alerts. The developer holds no data, so there is nothing for the developer to delete.
Children
The app is a business tool for site owners and is not directed at children.
Changes
If the app changes what it does with data, this policy will be updated before the change is released and the effective date will change.
