📍 Photo Location Remover
Photos from phones often carry the exact GPS spot where they were taken: your home, your kid's school. Drop photos here to see what they reveal, then download clean copies.
What exactly is removed?
JPEG: the EXIF block (GPS position, camera and phone model, date and time, serial numbers), XMP and IPTC data, embedded comments, and the extra pictures and data phones attach after the photo (which can carry their own location). PNG: the eXIf, text and time chunks. The picture itself is copied byte for byte: no re-compression, no quality loss. The colour profile is kept, so colours look the same.
Because the rotation flag lives in EXIF too, a clean copy of a sideways phone photo can show up rotated in some apps. If that matters, rotate it once in any photo app after cleaning.
Your photos never leave your device: no server, no cookies; visits are counted anonymously (GoatCounter). The page reads the location with exifr (open source).
Questions
How do I remove the location from a photo?
Drop the photo on this page. It shows whether the photo contains GPS coordinates, then gives you a clean copy without the location and other hidden data.
Do iPhone and Android photos contain my location?
Often yes: if location is allowed for the camera app, the GPS position is saved inside the photo (EXIF). Many websites strip it, but email, cloud links and chat apps that send files as documents often keep it.
Does removing EXIF data reduce photo quality?
No. The picture data is copied byte for byte; only the hidden metadata is removed.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser. The page has no server.
